A “Velux” Conversion is the simplest and most cost effective way of creating more space in your home. When we create a Velux conversion, we do not alter the shape of the existing roof line, all work is done on the inside of the roof space. We install Velux roof lights to the roof in order to provide natural light and ventilation, but that’s the only amendment made to the roof.
When you have a Velux conversion, you typically have a slope on both sides with one or two flat walls. Side walls are approximately one metre high allowing a degree of storage behind.
The suitability for multiple rooms depends on the size of the property and the staircase positioning within the building. Typically you will be able to have a double bedroom and in some cases an en-suite or perhaps two bedrooms depending on the size of your loft space.
